![]() Add oil as needed to bring the level to the upper mark on the dipstick.Ģ4. Wipe up any residual oil that may have collected on vehicle components.Ģ5. Dispose of the used filter and oil properly. Allow it to idle for 1 to 2 minutes.Ģ2. Clean the area around the engine oil dipstick.Ģ3. Remove the dipstick and check the oil level. The kit for a RANGER 570 Mid-Size or RANGER CREW 570-4 is part number 2202166.ġ8. Reinstall and tighten the dipstick and the oil fill cap, if applicable.ġ9. Start the engine. Your Polaris Oil Change Kit comes with the correct amount of oil for your vehicle. Torque to 12 ft-lbs (16 Nm).ġ7. Add 2 quarts (1.9 liters) of the recommended oil. The sealing washer is part number 5812232.ġ6. Reinstall the drain plug, using a 6mm Allen socket. The sealing surfaces on drain plug and crankcase should be clean and free of burrs, nicks or scratches. The filter is part number 2540086.ġ5. Install a new sealing washer on the drain plug. ![]() Check to make sure the O-ring is in good condition.ġ4. Install the new filter and rotate it clockwise by hand until the filter gasket contacts the sealing surface and then turn it an additional ¾ of a turn. Make sure the old filter O-ring is completely removed.ġ3. Lubricate the O-ring on the new filter with a film of fresh engine oil. Do not allow hot oil to contact skin.ġ1. Using an oil filter wrench, turn the filter counter-clockwise to remove it.ġ2. Using a clean dry cloth, clean the filter sealing surface on the crankcase. Caution: Hot oil can cause burns to skin. Tip: Place a rag in the bottom of the drain pan to prevent splashing of oil.ĩ. Using a 6mm Allen socket, remove the drain plug. Allow it to warm up at idle for 2 to 3 minutes.Ĩ. Place a drain pan beneath the engine crankcase. To change the oil and filter, do the following:ġ. Position the vehicle on a level surface in a well-ventilated area.ģ. Start the engine. Access the drain plug from the bottom of the vehicle. The crankcase drain plug is located on the bottom of the crankcase. When changing the oil on your Polaris RANGER 570 Mid-Size or RANGER CREW 570-4, always wear safety glasses and nitrile gloves.
